Mr. McDowell, as the General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer of Ranger, leads the legal efforts and compliance programs for all of the Ranger investment advisor entities. Mr. McDowell joined Ranger in 2017 as a legal associate. Prior to joining Ranger, Mr. McDowell served as in-house counsel within the direct lending industry, wherein his responsibilities included handling complex transactions, corporate governance, general corporate counsel, litigation, and assisting with strategic planning. Mr. McDowell earned a B.A. degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a J.D. degree from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.
