Mr. Thompson joined Ranger in June 2023 and prior from May 2002 through July of 2021 as its Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer.  From 1991 to 2002, Mr. Thompson served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Regal Asset Management Corporation, a Dallas-based hedge fund firm. While with Regal, Mr. Thompson was responsible for all operations of the firm, including technology, personnel, accounting/financial, compliance and co-managed investor relations. From 1986 to 1991, Mr. Thompson served in a variety of roles for Underwood, Neuhaus & Co., Inc. and its successor. Underwood, Neuhaus was a Houston-based regional brokerage and investment banking firm with more than 450 employees which was sold to Lovett Mitchell Webb & Garrison. During his tenure, Mr. Thompson served as Senior Vice President responsible for all administrative areas of the firm, including accounting, human resources, facilities management, communications, purchasing, administrative services, payroll & benefits and information technology. Prior thereto, Mr. Thompson was a Tax Consultant with Kaufman, Kalman, Susman & Leon P.C. from 1985 to 1986 and a Senior Tax Associate with Coopers & Lybrand from 1979 to 1985. Mr. Thompson earned a B.S. degree in Accounting and an M.B.A. degree from the University of Houston.
